Yvonne Marie Theriot

Yvonne Marie Theriot, 73, of Lake Charles died at 7:45 PM on Monday, August 16, 2010 at Lafayette General Hospital.

Mrs. Theriot lived in Lake Charles for most of her life where she was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.

She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was known for always helping others. She was willing to give to anyone and was always there with a helping hand. Mrs. Theriot adored her children and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Delores Alaniz of Lake Charles, Charles Miller and wife Debbie of Lake Charles, Anthony Lynn Miller and wife Mary of Iowa, and a beloved daughter, Carolyn Miller of Lake Charles; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and her siblings, Delta Walker, Della Rhodes, Harry Thibodeaux, Sr., and Faye Howell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Theriot.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 20, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Glenn Viau will officiate. Burial will be in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a Cursillo Rosary being held at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of services.

  1. Deloria, Charles and Lynn I am so very sorry for the passing of your Mom. I have so enjoyed our phone visits over the last several years. She had such humor so we were always laughing. So many wonderful memories of the visits with my parents and yours come to mind. I loved Aunt Yvonne and she will surely be missed. Like my sister I have tried to look up phone numbers with no success. Sympathy to you Deloris, Charles, Lynn, grandchildren and all other family members. Please call when you have the time at cell# 713-992-0253 or 713-378-5655. I would love to see all of you on one of my visis to Louisiana. Sending prayers of comfort, strength and peace.

  2. Deloris, Charles and Lynn, I am so very sorry to hear about your mom. I last spoke with her on her birthday and she was chipper as usual. I have tried to get one of your phone#'s to call but not successful. If one of you could call me at your convience I would love to speak to you. My prayers are with all of you at this sad time. I LOVED Aunt Yvonne. I have so many fond memories of her from my childhood. She was funny and never shy. I loved her visits. The house was full of laughter with tears.   3. I considered Yvonne a very special friend and was so sorry to hear of her death, but we know the Good Lord is taking good care of her now.I seldom visited in Lake Charles that I didn't go see her and Leo.

  4. I'm sorry to hear about Aunt Yvonne. She was always kind to me. Hard to handle so soon after Uncle Leo dies. Sorry I didn't make it to his funeral, as I could not travel, as I was recovering from heart bypass surgery. My mom did go though, Lou Thibodeaux, his sister.
