Barbara Ann Trahan, born in Creole on November 12, 1937, passed away August 26, 2021, at the age of 83.
Barbara loved cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Eli and Alida (LaBove) Benoit; 1st husband, Jimmy Trahan; her siblings, Winston Benoit, Hebert Benoit, Mary Ann Trahan, and Lorraine Miller.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Darrell Salsgiver; son, Carl James Trahan (Melissa); sisters, Corrine Willis; Olive Rutherford; Norma Lee Bourriaque; grandchildren, Angela Doxey (Huba); Carl James Trahan, Jr. (Tori); Janice Trahan; 3 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Bob Fruge officiating. Burial will follow in Sweet Lake – Grand Lake Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation will begin in the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will resume Thursday from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.
