Adele "Pecus" Harris

November 16, 1930 — February 7, 2016

Adele “Pecus” Natali Harris, 85, of Lake Charles, died Sunday February 7, 2016 in the comfort of her home with her loving family at her side.  

 

Adele was native and life-long resident of Lake Charles. She was a graduate of LaGrange Senior High School. She received her Licensed Practical Nurse degree from SOWELA and worked for many years for Lake Charles Memorial Hospital before “retiring” and working in the family business, Chardele Grocery Store. She was a faithful member of Glad Tidings Church and served in the Dorcas Room as a volunteer. She also enjoyed traveling with her cousin and dear friend, Josie Butler.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents,  Charlie and Josephine Bellamo Natali; her beloved husband of 56 years, Raymond D. Harris; brother, Martin Roy Natali; grandson, Robert Raymond Burt and faithful schnauzers, Prissy and Zoe.

 

Those left to honor and cherish her memories are her three children, Raymond D. Harris, Jr. and wife Bonnie, Kathy Harris and Jackie Harris; brother, Charles J. Natali and wife Kelly; grandchildren, Martin R. Harris, Dustin R. Harris and wife Brandi, Jeremy R. Harris, Jamie A. Burt, Ashley M. Burt Robinson and husband James Michael, Chuck Constance, Lee Constance and numerous others that she “adopted” and called her “Granny”;  great grandchildren, Caleb Harris, Tyler Harris, Baylen Harris, Drew Burt, Brennen Burt, Hunter Robinson, Bryson Constance, Cole Constance, Gabriel Constance and baby Robison (coming in July 2016); as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

 

Pallbearers will be Marty Harris, Dustin Harris, Jeremy Harris, Jamie Burt, James Robinson, Aaron Cooper, and Lee Constance.

 

Visitation will begin today, Tuesday February 9, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home at 3:00 PM and continue to 9:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Evers officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park.

 

The family would like to extend a special word of gratitude to the wonderful women who helped care for her through her struggle with Alzheimer’s: Glenda Bertrand, Shelia Droddy, Karen Poole, Mary Badeaux, Peggy Arceneaux and Jackie Guidry. Also, to the nurses and staff of Christus Hospice, Dr. Louise Bechnel and Fran for the wonderful loving care shown to their mother and grandmother during her final days.
