Adeline Ellen Dawsey, 85, of Lake Charles, LA, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at her residence.
Mrs. Dawsey was born on July 9, 1932 in Elton, LA, to Edmond and Felida LaFleur. She retired in 1999 after working as a Nursing Assistant at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for 24 years. Mrs. Dawsey was also a proud member of Sale Street Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending her spare time babysitting her grandchildren and having family gatherings. She will always be remembered for her Christmas Eve celebrations with her family.
Left to cherish Mrs. Dawsey’s memory is her loving husband, Robert Dawsey; sons, James Dawsey (Pat) of Longville, and Gary Dawsey (Becky) of Grand Lake; six grandchildren, Nancy Doucet (Jonathan), Gregory Dawsey, Melisa Harrelson (Valden), Patti LeBouef, Sarah Stout (Jason), and Mary LeBleu (Russell); thirteen great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; as well as three on the way.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Dallas LaFleur, Clarence LaFleur, Clifford LaFleur, and Curtis LaFleur.
Mrs. Dawsey’s funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Reverend Randy Edwards will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will resume on Saturday morning at 9:00 AM.
Pallbearers serving for Mrs. Dawsey will be Carl Fontenot, Alan LaFleur, Cameron Single, Austin LeBleu, Greg Dawsey, Clay Kiser, as well as honorary pallbearer, Glen LaFleur.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the aids of Brighton Bridge Hospice and Evangeline Home Health as well as Peggy Southern for their care, compassion, and understanding during this fragile time.
