Adrian Elmer Shives

Adrian Elmer Shives, 80, passed away on March 17, 2017 at a local hospital.

After 4 years in the US Airforce he started working as a Lab Assistant at Firestone. Adrian was a simple man that loved to spend time gardening and working in his shop. He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed fishing and hunting. His loving wife of 58 years, Mary, fondly remembers going to car races with him when they were younger. Most of all he loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Adrian leaves behind his wife, Mary Shives; son, Robert Shives (Catherine); daughter, Debra Parks; brother-in-law, Robert Carson; sister-in-law, Edna Shives; six grandchildren, Dustin Tupper, Ashley Foret (Jacob), Brook Tupper, Katelyn Tupper, Brianne Young (John), Whitney Shives; ten great-grandchildren, Kylie, Molly, Jordan, Ian, Ashton, Madison, Anna, Hunter, Zane, and Belle.

He is preceded in death by his parents Bruce and Edna Shives; five brothers, Wayne, Dale, Arlis, Ronal, and Keith Shives; and two sisters, Joyce Carson, and Lonie Mills.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 12PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Norman Ellis and Louis Magee will officiate. Visitation will begin at 11AM Monday morning. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
