Agnes Eve Andrus, 86, of Lake Charles died at 12:15 AM on Saturday, April 28, 2012 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Andrus was born on February 14, 1926 in Creole, LA. She was owner and operator of Andrus Grocery for 43 years, was a greeter at Wal Mart for 9 years, and also worked as a cook at Kid's Play House for 3 years. Mrs. Andrus was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church where she belonged to the altar society.
Those left to cherish her memory is a granddaughter, Christine Meaux of Lake Charles; a grandson, David Andrus of Meridian, ID; great grandchildren, Morgan and Kodi Jordan, Dailey Rodgers, Kade Meaux, and Daniel and Jay Andrus; great great grandchildren, Rylan and Keegan Andrus; a brother, Steven Miller of Lake Charles; several nieces and nephews; and her dog companion, Kailey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Andrus; a daughter, Linda Meaux; a son, Sidney Roy Andrus; a grandson, Chad Michael Meaux, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, April 30, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Dale Nazworth will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Monday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service with a rosary being recited at 12:00 noon.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Dawn and Tara at Grand Cove Nursing Center for the loving care they showed Mrs. Andrus.
