AJ Vincent, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 29, 1943, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Veda Foreman and Alee Vincent.
AJ graduated from Sulphur High School and went on to work for Lyondell as an operator for 37 years. He was an avid sportsman throughout his life. During high school, he proudly participated in American Legion baseball for four years and later played fast-pitch softball for Independence. AJ dedicated more than 25 years to coaching little league basketball, football, and baseball in Sulphur. He truly loved sports and volunteering with youth leagues, leaving a lasting impact on countless young athletes. He was a devoted supporter of Sulphur High School and LSU sports.
Outside of sports, AJ enjoyed fishing and duck hunting, and he was well known for his amazing gumbo. More than anything, he cherished spending time with his family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever. AJ was a devout Catholic and a faithful member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Dianne Kay Bruce Vincent; sons, Scott Vincent and Trace Vincent and wife Diana; grandchildren, Carly and Macy Vincent; sister, Becky Terrell and husband Kenneth; cousin, Ricky Sweat and wife Lynn; sister-in-law, Vicky Stine and husband Gary; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald Vincent, Jerald Vincent, Dale Vincent, Randy Vincent, and Michele Vincent; sister, Brenda Guidry; and aunt and uncle, Sonny and Bernice Peveto.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Sulphur, with Kenneth Vincent officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until the time of service.
A special thank you to Ricky Sweat and wife, Lynn and Vicky Stine and husband, Gary for their support over the last few years and to Uncle Sonny and Aunt Bernice for the support of rearing AJ.
