It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alfred H. “Al” Hickey, who left us peacefully on September 20, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on January 19, 1938, in Longview, Texas, Alfred lived a life full of adventure and passion. Al served his country as a member of the United States Army and later retired as a mechanic at Fort Polk, Louisiana. He was known for his incredible ability to fix anything with a motor.
Al had a zest for life that was contagious—he loved nothing more than hitting the open road on his motorcycle, touring the countryside and making memories along the way. He was a true free spirit who cherished the thrill of the ride and the beauty of nature.
Al is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly Hickey, sons, Randy Hickey and wife Kay of Anna, TX; Kenneth “Ken” Hickey of New Llano, LA; daughter, Stacy Hill of Lake Charles; grandsons Greg Hickey and wife Jannica of San Angelo, TX and Trey Raney of Lake Charles. Three nieces and a host of cousins and friends.
Graveside services will be a private family gathering at Bokchito Cemetery in Bokchito, OK. Rev. Ross Phillips will officiate. Family and friends will gather to honor him and share stories. The family has entrusted cremation arrangements to Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St. Lake Charles, LA. 70605.
As we reflect on Al’s life, let us remember the laughter, the journeys, and the love he brought into our lives. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
