Alain (Maury) Maurice Roy Newman, Jr., 24, was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on June 1, 1996. He died suddenly at his mother's home on August 26, 2020.
He attended McNeese State University and was attending SOWELLA Technical College, where he was majoring in Instrument Technology.
He is survived by his mother, Ramona Miller Newman LeJeune, and step-father Robert LeJeune, his father, Alain Newman, and step-mother Stephanie "Nop"/helicopter mom", sisters, Candy Newman Guillory (Brandon and niece, Madison), Jade Newman, Chloee Newman, brother, Brett Romero ( Michelle) and nephew, Walker Romero, grandmother, Denise Newman, god-mother and Aunt, Roxanne Miller Sonnier (John), uncle and god-father Eric Newman, uncles, Roderick Miller, Rickie Miller (Phyllis), Craig Miller (Doris), Bryan Miller (Cindy), Scott Miller (Denise) aunts, Carolyn Viator (Steve), Robin Vonmerwald (Vaughn), numerous cousins and companion, Kairavi Chokshi.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Francis and Fernella Miller; and Dudley Newman.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., with a Celebration of Life at 12 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.
Masks are highly recommended.
