Alcie "A.J." Joseph Hardy

Welsh – Alcie “A.J.” Joseph Hardy, born in Ardoin Cove on October 18, 1940, son of the late Joseph and Eva (Allemond) Hardy, passed away November 10, 2023, at the age of 83.

A.J. was a rice and soybean farmer most of his life. He enjoyed shrimping and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Hardy daughter, Stephanie Hardy; brothers, LeRoy, Lilton, and Gerald Hardy.

A.J. is survived by his son, Paul Hardy (Nancibelle); sisters, Kathy Guidry (Robert), Margaret Newton; brother-in-law, Bill Newton; grandchildren, Shelbie Hardy (Isaac), Dustin Hardy; step grandson, Jonathan Williams (Bonnie); great grandchildren, Gavin, Avery, and Reese Katherine.

Funeral services will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Ardoin Cove Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. and will resume Wednesday in the funeral home from 8 a.m. until the time of service.
