Iowa – Alice Lafont, 92, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.
Alice was born in Golden Meadow, LA on August 28, 1925 to the late Fermin and Alice (Melancon) Doucet. She was a longtime member of St. Raphael Catholic Church.
She is survived by her son, Donald Lafont and wife, Karon of Alvin, Texas; son-in-law, Claude Landry; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Constant Lafont and daughter, Alice Lafont Landry.
A Mass of Christian burial will be in St. Raphael Catholic Church on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 10 a.m. with Father Roland Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation is Friday in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m., with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will resume Saturday in the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
