Alisha Nicole Tarver, 24, of Sulphur left her earthly home unexpectedly and far too early in her life to be with the Lord and her much loved mother on May 26, 2017. Alisha was the daughter of Joseph Herman Tarver and the late Shanna Gail Poole Tarver.
Alisha was born in Darmstadt, Germany, on July 17, 1992, while her father served in the U.S. Army. When the family returned to the U.S., they resided in Grand Lake where Alisha attended Grand Lake Elementary School. The family ultimately moved to Sulphur, where Alisha graduated from Parkview Baptist Academy. After graduation, Alisha attended Delta School of Business and Lamar-Orange to pursue her interests in the medical field.
Alisha was a kind, caring, and nurturing young woman, with a generous heart. She helped her father care for her mother during her lifelong battle with long QT syndrome, taking on responsibilities far beyond her young age. She loved her dog Tripp and cat Leia and spending time with family and friends. Alisha enjoyed traveling, swimming, shopping, coloring, and attending sporting events. She was a McNeese, LSU, and Saints football fan.
Those left to cherish her memory are her father, Joey; maternal grandparents, Jimmy Lee and Dee Poole; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Lillie Tarver; aunt and godmother, Becky Burrows; uncles, James (Stephanie) Tarver, Jerry (Selinda) Tarver, and Jay Tarver; cousins, Amanda (Casey) Istre and sons Wyatt, Riley, Kannan, and Grayson and Ashley (Zack) Rini and children Arden, Cullen, and Tyler; godfather, John Diamond; surrogate moms, Becky Crochet and Dena Watson; close friends, Ali, Brittany, Cassie, and Shawna; and numerous family members and friends.
Alisha was preceded in death by her mother, Shanna Poole Tarver, her maternal grandmother, Velma Poole, and uncle, Dwain Poole.
