Allen Meche

Allen A. Meche, 89, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at his residence.

He was born on October 29, 1929 in Cankton, LA to Edgar and Onelia Thibodeaux Meche. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather who had a great sense of humor and was deeply devoted to his family. He was an incredibly hard worker and retired as a longshoreman at the Port of Lake Charles.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Marella Meche; son, Marty Meche and wife Kelly; daughter, Pamela Pelafigue and husband Mike; grandchildren, James Sudduth III, Noah, Lucas, Olivia and Avery Meche, and Maisie and Ashlyn Pelafigue; sisters, Clophina Cormier and Mary Thibodeaux.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Ronald Meche; his parents; brothers, Waverly Meche and Irvin Meche; and sisters, Georgianna Forestier, Eudia Meche and Eunice Viator.

His funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Bill Miller will officiate. Burial will take place in Consolata Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 PM until 8 PM with a rosary to be recited at 6 PM. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Friday from 9 AM until the start of the service.
