Alvin Terry Covert

Alvin Terry Covert, born in Oakdale on November 25, 1942, son of the late Farley Leroy and Myrtle (Chestnut) Covert, passed away in Spring, Texas on Sunday, December 25, 2022, at the age of 80.

Terry, a graduate of Bossier City High School, served honorably in the U. S. Army. He retired from the postal service. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, and shrimping. He was of the Methodist faith.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Terry is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda Covert; son, Timothy Covert (Sara), and daughter, Sherri Covert; brothers, Wayne Covert (Billie), and Farley Covert, Jr.


Funeral services are Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 10 a.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Burial will follow in LeBleu Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins Friday in the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will resume Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m.
