Alvin J. Miller, born on September 6, 1937, the son of John N. and Amerite Miller, passed away December 2, 2017, at the age of 80.
Alvin was a graduate of Creole High School and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. He enjoyed hunting and making sausage for his family and friends.
Survivors are his wife of 46 years, Julie Fontenot Miller; children, Paul Miller (Lisa) of Vidor, Texas, Mary Lou Campbell of Lumberton, Texas, Kenny Magnuson of LeBleu Settlement and Peggy Turner of Iowa; siblings, Curby Miller (Phyllis) of Mississippi, John Miller, Jr. (Debbie) of Ohio and Rita Badon of Sulphur and numerous grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cindy Phillips; brother, Stanford Miller and sister, Geneva Dyson.
A Celebration of Life is Monday, December 4, 2017 at 1 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home. Visitation is Monday in the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson & Brown Funeral Home.
