Alvin Ray James

On Thursday, November 2, 2017, Alvin James was granted eternal life with our Heavenly Father. Alvin was born on September 5, 1949 in Lafayette, Louisiana to Joseph and Rosalie Carriere James.

Alvin was a cross-country truck driver for 35 years and the later worked as a laborer in a number of Industrial Plants until he retired in June 2013. He enjoyed fishing, watching football, baseball and basketball. He loved to joking and talking smack with his family and friends.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Rene James and Rosalie Carriere James; his grandparents, Willie and Louise James; and Willie and Edna Carriere.

Alvin leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Cheryl Guillory James, two sons, Desmond and Matthew James and one brother, Raypheal James.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 10, 2017 from 8AM until 10AM at Johnson Funeral Home. A rosary will be said at 9AM. A funeral mass will be held at 11AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Lake Charles. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
