Amy Marie Picard, 33, of Moss Bluff, LA passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by family and friends.
Ms. Picard was born November 16, 1982, to Rodney Dwain Picard and Cindy Monroe in Lake Charles, LA. She grew up in Louisiana and Wyoming, and graduated from Natrona County High School in Casper, WY. Amy later moved to Moss Bluff and worked in the restaurant industry in Lake Charles, following which she earned her certification in massage therapy and became a successful masseuse.
Amy was known for her kindness and compassion. She had a beautiful smile that could light up any room and lift the spirits of even the most downtrodden. Her greatest passion in life was her precious daughter Aubrey. Amy will long be remembered for the genuine love she bestowed upon her family and friends, all of which made the lives of many so much brighter. As she passes from this life to a better one, Amy’s kind and gentle spirit will be greatly missed but will live on in the lives of those who loved her.
Amy was preceded in death by maternal grandfather Gordon Monroe.
Left to cherish her many beautiful memories are her daughter, Aubrey Renee Dufour; mother Cindy Monroe; father Rodney Dwain (Janet) Picard; paternal grandparents Ralph Fred (Joyce) Picard; maternal grandparents Barbara Monroe (David) Bradley and Rosa Carpenter; brothers Canden Picard, Jordan Picard, and Austin Picard; sisters Megan Himes and Kim (Brett) Himes Hebert; aunt Kay Picard (Clay) Cole; uncles Brian (Michelle) Picard, Donald Monroe and Mark (Shelly) Monroe; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 12 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home in Iowa, LA. Rev. Paul Picard will officiate. Visitation begins Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home. Cremation will follow the service under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home.
