Amy Thibodeaux

Amy Thibodeaux, 69, of Sulphur, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017 in her home surrounded by her family and friends.  She was born October 6, 1947 in Rayne, LA to Jimmy and Virginia Thibodeaux.  Amy spent most of her life in Sulphur, where she graduated from Sulphur High School and McNeese State University.

Amy taught for ten years with the Calcasieu Parish School Board before going on to a 35 year career at PPG Industries.  Her hobbies included fishing, shopping and cooking for family and friends.  Though Amy didn’t have children of her own, she had numerous nieces and nephews whose lives were enriched immeasurably by her love and generosity. 

Those Amy leaves to cherish her memory include her partner of 27 years, Evanna Lowery and her children and grandchildren; three sisters, Genalee Richard, Vernelle LeBlanc and Debbie Armistead; one brother, Robley Thibodeaux; 18 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents. 

A memorial service for Amy will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Aubrey Guilbeau officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mimosa Pines South.   The family will receive friends at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home on Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 8:30 AM until time to leave for the church with a rosary at 9AM.
