Angelo John Picarazzi, 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 2, 2026. John was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Joseph John and Mary Jane Kimball Picarazzi on July 17, 1945.
John graduated from Lake Charles High School in 1964 and continued his education at USL, where he studied art. He proudly served in the United States Navy for two years during the Vietnam War, where he operated a Higgins boat, transporting supplies to soldiers. Following his military service, John worked as an operator at Olin for several years. He later worked as a bridge inspector for the Louisiana Department of Transportation for 12 years before retiring. John also served as a firefighter for two years.
A true Renaissance man, John was talented and creative in many ways. He enjoyed sculpting, vegetarian cooking, making bread, and creating jewelry. He was also an avid bicyclist and enjoyed riding with his wife. Each year, John and Linda would take a six-week camping vacation to Mount Nebo in Arkansas, where they enjoyed spending time outdoors and making memories together. John was a skilled mechanic and carpenter and could fix or build just about anything. He was a very handy man who was always willing to lend his skills to help others. John was known for his generosity and his willingness to help those around him. He also had a deep love for his fur children, who brought him much joy throughout his life.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 40 years, Linda Kathryn Kleinschmidt; sister, Fran Ward; nieces, Janie and husband, Neil, and Kathy and husband, Jon; along with numerous other loving family members and friends.
He is preceded in passing by his parents, Joseph John and Mary Jane Kimball Picarazzi, and his beloved fur children.
