Ann Myers was born to Charles and Ethel Vines in Dodson, LA on May 5, 1928. She Ran the Race… Kept the Faith… and Finished the Course on November 12, 2018 at Harbor Hospice in Lake Charles.
Being raised in the depression, she knew the value of money and hard work. After graduating from Dodson High School, she met and married Marlon Myers on October 3, 1946 and moved to Lake Charles.
Ann was a faithful member of Lakewood Bible Fellowship. Throughout the years she was active in many organizations – she was P.T.A. president at F.K. White, President of the Ladies Fraternal Order of the Police, President of the Women’s Missionary and a Sunday School Teacher.
Ann was given a birthday card shower for her 80th birthday. For the past 10 years she remained in contact with over 30 pen pals – she will be remembered by them.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Charles Vines and Ethel Vines Greer; husband, Marlon Myers; granddaughter, Marla Hanks; and three sisters, Louise Block, Charlene Hodges and Minnie Colleps.
She leaves behind three children, Fran Hanks, Richard (Lou) Myers and Dennis (Missy) Myers; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sister, Billie Pettifield and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family of the heart.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a future time. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
