Anna Belle Clark

October 31, 1928 — June 24, 2018

Anna Belle “Aunt Belle” Mire Clark, 89, of Lake Charles passed away in her residence on her late husbands birthday, Sunday, June 24, 2018 with her loving family at her side.

 

Anna was born on October 31, 1928 in Kaplan, LA to Theo and Laura Herpin Mire. She grew up in Kaplan and graduated from Kaplan High School. She married John W. Clark whom had enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Alaska. She joined him a few months later in Alaska to start their life together.

 

When he retired from the Air Force in 1969, they moved to Lake Charles, LA. She was a homemaker who always was there to provide love and guidance for her family. She enjoyed making crafts with her husband, sewing, going to garage sales and flea markets and spending time with her family whom she loved dearly. She was a member of the W.B. Williams Post #1 American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and St. Margaret’s Catholic Church. She was a former member of the RSVP Volunteer Program and the Good Sam’s Club of American Campers. They enjoyed travelling with their camper with the new friends they met in the group.

 

Anna is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Anna Mazie Trahan, three brothers, Lovelace, Galvey and Whitney Mire.

 

She is survived by her children, James W. Clark and wife Miriam of Sulphur, LA, Shelia Clark White of Hayes, LA, Tammy Clark Vidrine and husband David of Elton, LA, Regina Clark LeBert and husband Ronald of Sulphur, LA and Timothy S. Clark and wife Paula of Welsh, LA, 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren plus one on the way and 3 great-great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive guests on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Home from 5-8PM with a Rosary at 6PM. Visitation will continue at the funeral home from 11AM-12:30 on Tuesday, July 3, 2018. A funeral mass will be held at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church at 1PM officiated by Rev. Richard Uche Adiukwu. Burial will follow at Prien Memorial Park Cemetery.

 

The family would like to express their grateful appreciation for the compassionate care given their beloved mother and grandmother by Brookdale Senior Living in Lake Charles, Christus St. Patrick Hospital, Cornerstone Hospital in Sulphur, LA and to Heart of Hospice on her journey to be back in the loving arms of her husband.
