Anne Elizabeth Farrar, 61, of Sulphur passed away on February 14, 2018 in her residence surrounded by her family. She was in her 40th year of teaching at WW Lewis as an English Teacher. Anne loved her students, past and present and often spoke of them. She headed the Middle School Quiz Bowl for the District and presented at local, state, and national conferences. Anne was Band Booster Secretary for 2 years and a mentor to all past and present ELA teachers. Her knowledge of the needs of the gifted students she taught made her the great teacher she was. Anne’s life, joy and reason for living was her son, Michael. She followed him in all his band activities, from high school through college, she was devoted to her faith, had a loving smile, and always willing to help anyone. Anne wanted to thank all her family, friends, and co-workers, who supported her and Michael, through their trials, how grateful they were for all the help they received.
Anne is survived by her son, Michael Farrar of Sulphur; her mother, Jackie Farrar, 2 sisters, Kathleen Nichols (Terry) and Maureen Armentor (Jeff);and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Farrar and her brother, Will Farrar.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 10 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur with Father Edward Richard, M.S. officiating. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 3:30 P.M. till 8 P.M. with a rosary at 6 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home and will continue on Saturday, February 17 at 9 A.M. until time of leaving for the church.
