Annie Vidrine Benoit

October 6, 1925 — November 2, 2022

Annie Vidrine Benoit, born in Fenton on October 6, 1925, daughter of the late Raphael and Theresa (Augustine) Vidrine, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at the age of 97.

Annie was a graduate of Fenton High School, and Vincent Business College. She was one of the original charter members of St. Raphael #1377 Catholic Daughters, and a charter member of AARP Iowa Chapter. Annie attended St. Raphael Catholic Church, and St. Joseph Mission Chapel. She retired from Lake Charles American Press. Annie was always there for her children and loved spoiling her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and had a green thumb when it came to working in her yard.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Benoit; daughter, Constance Anne Benoit; parents; brothers, Wilbur “Nookie” Vidrine, William “Murphy” Vidrine; sister, Lena Vidrine DeRouen; one grandchild, and three great-grandchildren.

Annie is survived by her children, Linda Gail Benoit Bourgeois, and husband Charles, Preston Lee Benoit, and companion Carol Ninos; sister, Ida Vidrine Trahan; grandchildren, Dylan Gill, and wife Rebekah, Matthew, Michael, and Danielle Bourgeois; great-grandchildren, Drake, Hayes, and Harper Gill.

A Mass of Christian burial will be in St. Raphael Catholic Church, Friday, November 11, 2022 at 10 a.m. Rev. Carlos Garcia, Celebrant. Burial will follow in LeBleu Cemetery of Fenton under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins Thursday in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa from 5:00 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary at 6:30 p.m., and will resume Friday in the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
