Anthony Raymond Honoré, Jr., affectionately known as “Butch,” was the oldest of five children born from the union of his parents, Anthony Raymond Honoré, Sr. and Dorothy Metoyer Honoré. Butch was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana and moved with his parents to Chicago, Illinois at the age of four.
Following in his father’s footsteps, he worked 42 years in the electrical trade and was steadfast in his chosen occupation. As a young adult, Butch married Cheryl Lynn and together they raised three children – Charles, Antoinette, and Anthony. He stressed the importance of education to his children and took pride in providing for his family.
He met Carol Hinton in 1986. Later, they were married and became life-long companions and shared both love and respect for one another until his passing on May 6, 2026.
Butch enjoyed reading, playing chess and listening to music. He also liked working with his hands, building things such as tables, bookcases (to name a few), and could repair almost anything.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Carol H. Honoré, his children Charles Honoré (Tiffiney), Antoinette Honoré McKee, Anthony R. Honoré, III; his six grandchildren Christopher, Lauren, Marie, Hannah, Anthony IV, and Abigail; his brother, Phillippe N. Honoré, Sr. (Cynthia); and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Dorothy Honoré, his two brothers Angelo Honoré and Terence Honoré (Cynthia), and his sister Candace Honoré.
