Dean Rougeau

July 17, 1968 — January 11, 2026

Anthony Dean Rougeau passed away leaving behind a legacy of hard work, service to others, and a life well lived.

An outdoorsman is truly an understatement when describing Dean. If it flew, swam, or walked, he hunted it in season. Raised as a farmer's son, he developed a strong work ethic early in life that guided him every day. Dean spent 14 years as a welder before dedicating 28 years as a pipe designer. A resilient and determined man, he continued working throughout his chemotherapy treatments, never allowing challenges to slow him down.

Dean was exceptionally knowledgeable and capable, with the ability to fix or figure out just about anything. He was extremely personable and made friends wherever he went, rarely meeting a stranger. Always willing to drop everything to help someone in need, Dean had a true servant's heart. His kindness extended especially to the elderly and individuals with special needs.

A gifted storyteller, Dean had a natural ability to connect with people through his stories. This was one of his greatest talents, bringing people together through shared laughter and conversation. His integrity, responsibility, and genuine care for others earned him respect at a young age, and his reputation only grew stronger over time.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Susan Rougeau; his children Kyle Rougeau (Jennah), Caleb Rougeau, and Paige Derouen (Jaydon); his grandson Thomas Dean Rougeau and an expected second grandchild, his namesake Anthony Dean Derouen; his siblings Lisa Litteral (Brad), Kay Fuselier (Billy), and Shane Rougeau; along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Rougeau and Brenda Sullivan Rougeau.

A Funeral Mass for Dean will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Ragley, LA, followed by a graveside service at Old Ritchie Cemetery.
