Anthony “Tony” Joseph Pecorino, 48, of Lake Charles, LA, died during the early morning hours of Friday, February 17, 2017 in his residence.
Anthony was born October 27, 1968 in Lake Charles, LA, where he was a life-long resident. He was a 1987 graduate of LaGrange High School and attended Louisiana State University. He worked for many years at Ship to Shore and then at the Pioneer Club. He will always be remembered for his life passion of photography, bartending, motorcycling, estate sales, collecting, cooking, drawing, painting, and sailing, as well as for his generous, loving, caring, loyal, dedicated, and giving spirit. He was extremely proud of the Pecorino name and what that name meant in the Lake Charles community; first with the Pecorino Grocery Store, which opened in 1903, and John’s Pharmacy which his father opened and operated. Both proudly served generations of Lake Charles families. As a bartender, Anthony was the consummate professional. Everything had to be just perfect or he’d feel he let his client or customer down. Anthony’s life can be summed up in one word: Service. Whether he was serving a cocktail, one of his bright smiles, his often curious wit, or helping friend or stranger alike, Anthony put all and everyone else before himself. He was a kind and gentle soul who will be missed by his loving immediate and expansive extended family, his friends, and anyone who only knew Anthony casually.
Anthony is survived by his parents, John and Elizabeth Pecorino; siblings, Angela and husband David Etheridge of Salisbury, MD, John Pecorino and spouse Will Paulson of New Orleans, LA and Linda Elizabeth of Seattle, WA; Grace Holt, whom he loved like a daughter; aunt, Glenda McCarty and husband Dave of Lake Charles, and their children, Jackie Carleton, Janie Duplechin, Julie Micallef, and John David McCarty; uncle, Pat McDonald and wife Donna of Lafayette, and their children, Katie McDonald Trahan and Nick McDonald; and uncle, Mike McDonald, of Lafayette, and his children, Stephanie McDonald McDowell and Michael McDonald, II; his Pioneer Club family; and a host of other family members and friends. We LOVE you so much Anthony and we will see you again one day….
