Antonia Dartez Hargrove

Antonia D. Hargrove, 93, of Lake Charles died at 12:57 AM on Monday, May 21, 2012 in her residence.

Mrs. Hargrove was born on October 7, 1918 and was a native of Forked Island, LA. She lived in Lake Charles for over 45 years. Mrs. Hargrove was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.

She enjoyed working on the family farm, crocheting, ceramics, and dancing to French music.

Those left to cherish her memory is a daughter, Leona H. Marcantel of Lake Charles; a grandson, Gregg Marcantel and wife Tamera of Placitas, NM; a granddaughter, Lynette Marcantel of Lake Charles; and four great grandchildren, Caitlin and Jordan Barnard, and Jacob and Donovan Duran.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon "Pete" Hargrove; brothers, Luke and Leon Dartez; and sisters, Blanche D. Breaux and Amie Guidry.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Johnson Funeral Home. Deacon Jack Reynolds will officiate. Visitation will begin at 8:00 AM until the start of the rosary at 9:45 AM. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Kaplan, LA.
