Arlan Wayne Deshotel, born in Jennings on January 10, 1953, son of Druse Adam Deshotel, and Doris Ann Fontenot, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023 at the age of 70.
Wayne, a graduate of Jennings High School, retired as a building contractor. He enjoyed camping, and vacationing with family. Along with hunting, Wayne enjoyed watching football, especially the Saints and LSU.
Wayne had a huge heart, always willing to help anyone in need. He was a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather. His many I love you’s, and his generous nature will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Druse Adam Deshotel.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of nearly 52 years, Stephanie Fruge Deshotel; mother, Doris “Mom” Deshotel; children, Shane Deshotel (Valarie), Sharon Segura (Chuck), Mechelle Burge (Pam), Brittany Johnson (Chris), Bailee Deshotel, Nate Deshotel, and Bailyn Deshotel; sister, Louella Ewing (Cleve), and sisters of the heart, Delores “Nanny Lorsie” Daigle (JR) and Anita Gatte; grandchildren, Hailey Segura, Carly Deshotel, Ethan Deshotel, Chloe Deshotel, Zayne Deshotel, Cortnee Deshotel, Atlas Johnson, son of his heart, Dominic Vasquez.
Funeral services will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dwayne Daigle and Mike Mille` officiating. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation will begin in the funeral home on Monday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and resume on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Pallbearers assisting in his service are his sons, and grandsons.
