Arlita Mary Duplechain

Arlita Mary (Sis) Duplechain, 87, passed away in her sleep sometime on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at her home in Lake Charles, La.

Born on August 4, 1937, in Church Point, La, Arlita was the daughter of the late Alse and Cora Duplechain. Arlita attended Washington High School and graduated from Epps Beauty School. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of May Catholic Church.

Arlita moved to California in her youth and worked as a nurse’s aide for some 10 years. She moved back to LA and practiced as a beautician, and as a cafeteria worker and a Grandparent in the Calcasieu Parish School System.

Arlita never married. She had a good heart and devoted herself to her parents in their old age, to her nieces and nephews, sisters, and brothers. She was also a simple woman of prayer. She loved sports of all kinds, game shows, and puzzles. Reading the local newspaper was a must for her.

Arlita is survived by her sister (Jocelyn Anderson). There are no words to describe how much Sis was loved and will be missed. May the angels of God receive her soul and present her to God, the Most High!

Services are being arranged at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and with Johnson’s Funeral Home in Lake Charles, LA.
