Artemon was born August 21, 1929 in Lacassine to the late Teotise and Celena Cormier Arceneaux. He attended school in Welsh and joined the U. S. Army Air Corp and later the U. S. Air Force. Artemon served in WWII and the Korean conflict. After serving for 17 years, he went to work for Townsco Construction. He enjoyed riding horses, fishing, reading and was a devoted father, grandfather and friend to his family.
Artemon lived in the Veterans Home in Jennings for the last six years and was elected to the Resident Council by his peers. He was a member of the honor guard as well as the Sr. Crime Stoppers at the home and did a great job!
Survivors are his daughter, Mary Sisk and husband, Stanton of St. George, Utah; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Jaqueline Duncan; 2 sisters, Rena Begnaud and Dula Trahan.
Funeral services will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 1 p.m. with Father Charles McMillin officiating. Burial will follow in Broussard Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m.
