Arthur Joseph Davis

Arthur Joseph Davis, 90, of Westlake, LA, died on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 in his residence.

Mr. Davis was born November 8, 1925 in Jennings, LA, where he was raised.  He served his country in the U.S. Army and has lived in the Lake Charles area for the past sixty-three years.  He worked as a carpenter, spending a number of years of his career for Nolan Conner Construction.  Mr. Davis was a longtime member of St. Margaret Catholic Church and was a member of the Carpenter’s Local.  During his younger years, he enjoyed bowling, hunting, and fishing.  He was an avid football fan and will always be remembered as a quiet, simple man, who loved his family dearly and was always there to help others.

Mr. Davis is survived by his daughters, Suzanne Guillory and husband George of Montgomery, TX and Paula Heimbach and husband Karl of Orangefield, TX; brother, Amos Edward Davis of Jennings, LA; and grandchildren, Todd Arthur Guillory and wife Jennifer of Tomball, TX and Erin Heimbach of Galveston, TX.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Belle Davis; two brothers; and three sisters.

His funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM and continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
