LeBleu Settlement – Asa Julian “Sonny” Breaux, Sr., 80, passed away in a local hospital Thursday, June 22, 2017.
Sonny was born in LeBleu Settlement to the late Joseph V. and Mamie (LeBleu) Breaux on January 17, 1937. He was employed as a truck driver and a member of the NRA, Teamsters, American Legion and Goldwing Road Riders Association. He enjoyed collecting guns, knives and spending time with his pets, B & Z and Gracie the goat. Sonny served in the U. S. Army Reserves from 1956 – 1962, as an Artillery crew member.
Survivors are his children, Tara Bennett (David), Dana Breaux, Asa J. Breaux, Jr. (Andrea), Kama Watkins (Clarence) and Sonny Julian Breaux (Stephanie); sisters, Anna Lois Smythe (Clarence) and Ava Lynn Hood (James Paul); 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Aaron Joseph Breaux.
Funeral services will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 12 p.m. Burial will follow in LeBleu Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
