Audrey "Sugar Bear" Manuel Colvin

September 15, 1948 — June 26, 2018

Audrey Ruth Manuel Colvin, 69, of DeQuincy, died Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in a local hospital.

 

Mrs. Colvin lived most of her life in the Westlake, LA. She owned and operated “Sugar Bears” in Westlake for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Colvin enjoyed crabbing, Bingo and dancing. She loved to cook, her specialty was gumbo and catfish court bouillon. She will be most remembered for her love of her family.

 

She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Tamica Colvin Spears (Emmitt) of Sulphur; two sons, Lonnie Franklin of Baton Rouge and Jack Shannon Colvin of DeQuincy; one grandchild, Matthew Dylan Colvin of Sulphur; two sisters, Carliss Manuel Monceaux of Iowa and Brandy Willis (Eric) of Houston, TX and many nieces, nephews and friends whom she loved dearly.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Conrad Colvin; companion of twenty years, Glenn Massingill; parents, Chester and Evelyn Guillory Manuel and two sisters, Pam LeBleu and Vickie Manuel .

 

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, June 29, 2018 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Maria Edwards will officiate. Visitation Thursday will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue Friday from 8:00 AM until the time of service.
