Iowa – Barbara L. “Bobbie” Chelette, 82, passed away in her residence Thursday, October 15, 2015.
Bobbie was born in New Orleans on March 28, 1933 to the late Jesse and Agnes Foster Lane. She was employed at George Theriot, King’s Telephone Service and the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office. Bobbie was a member of the Shriners of Lake Charles; lifetime member of the VFW and an Eastern Star. She enjoyed tending to her flowers, dogs and collecting figurines.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Bermudez of New Iberia; sister, Karron Lane of New Orleans; grandchildren, Hope Griffith of Houston and Jessica Bermudez of Raleigh, NC; great-grandchildren, Lane Flores and Erin Baumel; step-son, Newton L. Chelette of CA; father of her children, Henry Lee Fewell of Lake Charles, and her beloved Chihuahua, Angel. Preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Teresa Lane Lytle and spouse, Dan Chelette.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 23, 2015 at 1 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home. Visitation is Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m.
