Barbara Casey

January 9, 1932 — September 24, 2025

Barbara Alice Koonce Casey, 93, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was known for her selfless heart and generous spirit-no one ever left her home hungry. Barbara was a woman of deep, deep faith. She was a prayer warrior, who always reminded everyone to go to church, say their prayers, and wash their hands. A true Christ follower, Barbara lived out her faith as a member of First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff for 64 years.

Barbara married the love of her life, Walter "Buddy" Casey. Together they shared 50 years of marriage, raising their family with love and devotion. Barbara was deeply family-oriented, and the happiest when her loved ones were gathered around her table. She loved to cook, garden a little, fish, and even spent time watching motocross. She also enjoyed traveling. In her younger years, she and Buddy often took their children camping in the Ozarks. Later in life, the two traveled across the country in their camper, visiting nearly every U.S. state and even journeying through Canada all the way to Alaska.

Barabara is survived by her children Gail Guillotte(Rob), Dale Casey (Cathy),Judy Farquhar; grandchildren Michael Guillotte, Jessica Thibodeaux (Zach), Stephanie Johnson (Chase), Josh Casey, Jason Casey (Kari), Cassie Roberts with Adam Myrick, Ben Farquhar, Stacy Woodard; great grandchildren Drake, Brooks, Audrey, Journey, Emma, Graham, Anna Cate, Kollyn, Spencer, Johnnie, Lane; and great, great grandchildren Dagen and Blakey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Benjamin Casey; her siblings Dub Koonce, Leno Koonce, Erble Farris, and Jewel Miller; and her son-in-law, Ronald Farquhar.

A funeral service in honor of Barbara's life will take place on Monday, September 29, 2025 at 10:00am at First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff with a graveside service to follow at Old Ritchie cemetery. Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM and will continue the following morning at First Baptist church of Moss Bluff at 9:00 AM.

Barbara's faith and kindness touched many lives. Her family would like to give special thanks to Alice Moon, Brenda Sparks, Cathy Lanier, and Linda LeBato for their faithful visits, and to Merci Dixon's Sunday School class for always checking in on her.

Barbara will be remembered for her faith, her love of family, and the warmth she shared with everyone she knew. She leaves behind a legacy of prayer, generosity, and devotion that will be cherished for generations.
