Barbara Ann Edigo

April 16, 1936 — June 20, 2025

Barbara Ann LeBlanc Edigo Barbara Ann LeBlanc Edigo, 89, of Moss Bluff passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025 in a local hospice facility.

Mrs. Edigo was born on April 16, 1936, in Mermentau, Louisiana, where she spent her early years before meeting the love of her life, Kenneth. They married and moved to Lake Charles shortly after, where they raised their three daughters. Mrs. Edigo was an active and cherished member of Unity Baptist Church in Deridder and First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff. She served for many years as a Sunday school teacher, sharing her wisdom and love of God with others. She also enjoyed singing in the church choir, where her beautiful voice was a source of inspiration to all who heard it.

To her family and friends she was known as someone who would cook you the best cajun meal of your life and would never send you home empty-handed. She also never let you forget that not only did she love you, but Jesus loves you. In her large family, a birthday was never forgotten and every request for prayer was written and truly prayed for. She was larger than life in personality and impact.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jo Ann Rhodes of Deridder, Judy Desormeaux (Randy) of Moss Bluff, and Jennifer Stailey (Don) of Moss Bluff; sister-in-law, Belva LeBlanc of Iowa; grandchildren, Teri Buck of Houston, Tony Leviner (Michelle) of Houston, Tiffany Phelps (Mike) of Austin, Mia Hamilton (Tim) of Westlake, Charlee Anne Meche (John) of New Orleans, Jessica Reeves of Moss Bluff, and Ashley Buckner (Tommy) of Topsy; and numerous great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Kenneth Edigo; her parents, Mayah and John LeBlanc; and siblings, Elge LeBlanc, Ruby Pousson, Narris LeBlanc, Milton LeBlanc, Jean Breaux, Nelia Mangelone, and Charles Istre.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel in Moss Bluff. Grandsons-in-law, Tommy Buckner and John Meche will officiate. Rev. EJ McCann will officiate the committal at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and continue until the start of the service.

Pallbearers will be: Julian Lester, Judah Meche, Brock Buckner, Tony Leviner, Tim Hamilton, and Andon Reeves.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff, Renee Vincent, Victoria, and Dr. Kahn at Harbor Hospice, The Verandah caretakers, Brookdale staff, First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff, Chaplain Shelly Young, and Rachel at Johnson Funeral Home for their continued support and compassion.
