Barbara Lovelady

Barbara Mary Richard Lovelady, born November 28, 1946, passed away March 10, 2026, peacefully and surrounded by loved ones in Sulphur, Louisiana.

Barbara is survived by her children, twin daughters, Tiffany Collins of Woodstock, GA, Tonya McKnight of Westlake, LA, and son Kenneth Collins Jr of Kissimmee, FL.; great friend and father of her children, Kenneth A. Collins of Marietta, GA.; niece, Summer Richard Vestal of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Courtney Collins of Denver, CO, Tyler McKnight of Iowa, LA, and Kenneth A. Collins III in Northeast, MN.; great grandchildren, Cylvia Fruge of Denver, CO., Oliver McKnight of Iowa, LA.; cousins that she grew up with Dean and Chuck Nehring from Gruver, IA.

She is proceeded in death by her beloved husband of over 30 years, James Lovelady; brother Clyde Richard Jr.; mother, Florence Barber Richard; father, Clyde Richard Sr.; grandparents, Frank Clifford Barber and Eva Nehring Barber, who raised her from a young age after the death of her parents.

Barbara will be remembered for being a calming, caring soul and great listener and conversationalist. Being a mother was her proudest achievement in life. She loved cats and butterflies. She never let a stray cat go hungry.

In lieu of a funeral service, and with Barbara's love for butterflies in mind, you are invited to the annual butterfly release event held by Heart of Hospice, who did the most amazing job helping Barbara in her final weeks. This event is scheduled for April 19, 2026. The twins will be there to celebrate her life and would love to see you. Link below to join.
