Barbara Jean Roberts Veillon

Barbara Jean Roberts Veillon, age 80 of Lake Charles, LA left the world on January 31, 2022.
Barbara Jean was born January 15, 1942 in Harrison, Arkansas. She was married to Aaron J Veillon for 55 years, where they resided in Lake Charles, LA. She was a graduate of Sulphur High School. She worked for Bell South, then went on to work in the school system as a substitute teacher at several schools in Calcasieu Parish for 35 years.
Some of her favorite past times included: having drinks and appetizers with friends at the Blue Martini, a little bit of gambling (never to lose more than $20), bingo, and Saturday shopping with her sister Betsie Walker. She loved her family dearly, and everyone knew that the second her great granddaughter Collyns entered the room, no one else mattered. Barbara was well known for being feisty even in her small size. She was well known for her laugh, that you could hear from across the way, and you knew exactly who it was even without seeing her.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; Mary Jo Roberts and John C Roberts.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her husband Aaron J Veillon; one son, Lane Veillon (Greta) of Baton Rouge; one granddaughter, Emilee Veillon of Baton Rouge; one great-granddaughter, Collyns Hutchinson of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Betsie Walker (Billy) of Hecker, LA; Mary Lee Hobbie (Butch) of Greenville, NC; Sister-in-law, Dorothy Vidrine (Karl); Sister-in-law, Margaret Veillon (Bruce) of Westlake, LA; nieces and nephews and known to some as a ballerina / opera singer.
Her cremation was entrusted to Johnson and Brown Funeral Home in Iowa, LA. Per Barbara’s wishes there will be no services. We will hold so many wonderful memories close to our hearts.
