Barbara Nell Granger Sexton

Barbara Nell Granger Sexton, 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 17, 1940, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to her beloved parents Hazel Fontenot and Pierre Benjamin Granger.

Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, whom she loved deeply. She took immense pride in her home and yard and was an accomplished quilter. Barbara and her husband enjoyed many memorable cruises together, creating lasting memories over the years.

She is survived by her two sons and their wives, Darren and Rhonda Sexton, and Joey Sexton. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren and their spouses: Alex and Lauren, Jordan and Elyse, Clinton and Amber, Aaron and Hailey, Miranda and Jeremy, and Ashleigh and Jamie. Barbara was blessed with 12 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought great joy to her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her devoted husband of 64 years, Huey F. “Joe” Sexton.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 9,2025 in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home. Deacon Harold Nixon will officiate. Interment services with honors will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Friends and family will gather to honor and celebrate Barbara's remarkable life on Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
