Barbara Soileau

October 18, 1952 — September 16, 2025

Barbara "Bobbie" Cradure Soileau, 72, passed away peacefully at her home on September 16, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on October 18, 1952, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Ernest Joseph Cradure and Cassie Miller Cradure.

Bobbie was a graduate of Westlake High School. She worked for many years as a material coordinator among multiple of plants in the Lake Charles area. She also shared in the shrimping life with her husband and children aboard the John Law. A devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, she was affectionately known as "Boo". Bobbie lived her life with a fierce love for her family and an open hand toward others. She would give or lend to anyone, even to strangers, always looking out for the underdog.

A lifelong member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church, Bobbie lived out her Catholic faith deeply. She was active in ACTS, served as a CCD teacher, and participated in many ACTS teams through the years. Her faith shone through in everything she did, drawing people to her with her joy, warmth, and generosity.

Bobbie had many, many passions, hunting, golfing, and being in the outdoors-but her greatest joy was being a grandmother. She was "Boo" not only to her grandchildren but to every child she met. She also proudly started the "First Cousin's Club," which has been going strong for over 30 years. Bobbie was a true people person who loved everyone she encountered and radiated God's love in the way she lived her life.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Ferrell Soileau; her children Wayne and Kristy Soileau, Toni and David Lantz, and Damon and Sydney Soileau; and her ten grandchildren, Hayden Lantz, Taylor Maddox (Jake), Katlin Ardoin (Alec), Dawson Lantz, Carson Soileau, Payton Soileau, Brody Lantz, Keaton Soileau, Layla Soileau, and Bennett Soileau. She also leaves behind her siblings Kathy Picket (Bruce), Susie Langley (Hillery), Monica Jenkins (Jack), Paul Cradure (Pam), John Cradure (Kathy), Joan Comeaux (Troy), Beau Fontenot (Joycelyn), Betty Villarreal (Danny), Ray Soileau (Bridgette), and Cheri Soileau Kent (Tyler); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Cassie Cradure; and her brothers Ernest Cradure Jr., Larry Fontenot, and Roger Dale Cradure.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Westlake, Louisiana followed by a graveside service at Magnolia cemetery in Westlake. Visitation will take place on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday at 9:00 AM until the start of Mass.

Bobbie will be remembered for her fierce love, her generous heart, and the way she lived her faith daily. She was the heart of her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
