Bebe Ellender

Bebe Ellender, 85, of Lake Charles passed away at 10:50 PM on Sunday, June 11, 2017 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Ellender was born in Kilbourne, LA and had lived in Lake Charles since 1951. She was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School and had attended Louisiana College. Mrs. Ellender had worked as a telephone operator for several years before becoming employed at the State of Louisiana Office of Employment Security and also had worked for Magobar. She belonged to Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

Those left to cherish her memory are a grandson, John Merrick Ellender of Woodlawn, LA; a sister, Beverly Jerome of Kenner, LA; and several friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John G. “Pic” Ellender; a son, Darrell W. Ellender; and her parents, Wallace Roy Sturdivant and Ruby S. Janes.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Highland Memory Garden Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. The Reverend Ronnie Estes will officiate.
