Iowa – Benny Leon Miller, born on March 18, 1952, son of the late J. C. and Alberta (Delahoussaye) Miller, passed away in his residence after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at the age of 69.
Benny, a 1970 graduate of Lacassine High, attended McNeese State University. He owned and operated Miller Oilfield Services and SWD for over 40 years. He loved sports, especially Alabama Crimson Tide, and playing cards. Benny was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Benny is survived by his wife of 15 years, Suzie Miller; daughter, Kerri Walker; son, Scott Miller (Christy); brother, Jody Miller (Karen); grandchildren, Cassie Hofstetter (Brian); Jacey Dartez (Garett); Adisyn & Sydni Walker; Slaydon Cormier; Hayden McLaughlin; great-grandchildren, Easton Dartez; Adalynn Hofstetter (on the way); Lexi, Alyssa & Briley Crochet; step-children, Kade Crochet; Brittany Crochet (John); mother of his children, Debbie Savant; and sister of his heart, Sallie Daughenbaugh.
Funeral services will be held in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa, Sunday, July 11, 2021, at 2 p.m. Rev. Richard Louviere, officiant. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation will begin in the funeral home on Sunday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m.
The family would like to thank Louisiana Hospice & Palliative Care for their compassion and service to Benny.
