Iowa – Bernice Benoit, 83, passed away Monday, November 30, 2015 in a local care facility.
Bernice was born October 18, 1932 in Hayes, LA to the late William Berry and Eula Lopez. Bernice attended St. Raphael Catholic Church. She enjoyed knitting, making quilts, crocheting, embroidering and playing bingo and loved going to the casino.
She is survived by her daughters, Doris Teddlie, Shelia Marcantel (Buddy); half-sister, Ethel Rogers; 5 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lawrence and Joseph Berry; half-sister, Mary Lois Doxey; husband, Wilbert Benoit.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 3, 2015 in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home with Father Roland Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home. Visitation is Wednesday in the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. and will resume Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of service.
