Bethany J. Fontenot, born in Jennings on November 19, 1956, passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 23, 2023 at the age of 66.
Bethany was a graduate of Welsh High School and a member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church. She worked at Thrifty Way Pharmacy of Welsh for many years. She enjoyed traveling, riding horses, riding motorcycles with her husband, and loved spending time with her grandson.
Bethany is survived by her husband of 46 years, Wendel Fontenot; son, Joshua Fontenot (Ashley); grandson, Conor Fontenot; brothers, Steven Janssen, and David Todd Janssen (Pam).
She is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Patricia Miller Janssen.
A Mass of Christian burial will be in Our Lady of Seven Dolors on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 1 p.m. Rev. Susil Fernando, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins Wednesday in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume Thursday from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.
In lieu of flowers and plants, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or charity of your choice.
