Betty Louise Duhon

Betty Louise Duhon, 79 of Hackberry passed away on April 25, 2015. She was born on March 23, 1936 in Alvin, TX to Albert Vernon Richie and Pearl Louise Flora Richie. Betty loved and enjoyed spending time and telling her stories with her family and friends. She liked to cook, bake, decorate for the holidays and read books. Betty is survived by her two daughters, Donna Duhon Coco and husband Warren of Baton Rouge, LA and Darla Duhon Lowery of Iowa, LA; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Sam Richie and wife Bette Anne of Fallon, NV and George Richie and wife Dorothy "Dot" of Grapeland, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam Duhon; parents, Albert and Pearl Richie; a sister, Doris Richie Dean and a son, Darrell Adam Duhon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 11 A.M. at St. Peters Catholic Church in Hackberry with Father Gijo Ikkaramatton officiating. Burial will be in Duhon Cemetery in Hackberry under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 from 5-9 P.M. with a rosary at 6:30 P.M. at St. Peters Catholic Church Hall in Hackberry. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at 9 A.M. the church hall until time of the service. The family would like to thank the staff of Landmark of Baton Rouge Nursing Home and Life Source Services of Baton Rouge for all the loving care given to their mom. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Louisiana Lions League for Crippled Children Foundation, P.O. Box 171, Leesville, LA 71496-0171.
