Betty Storer Mount, 92, of Lake Charles, LA, passed away on June 28, 2017, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 10, 1925 in Iowa, LA to her parents James and Juanita McKinley Storer.
Mrs. Mount lived most of her life in Iowa, LA. She was Assistant Branch Manager at Calcasieu Marine National Bank for twenty years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lake Charles. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Iowa Quilters Club.
Mrs. Mount is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 50 years, Crawford Mount, and her son Benjamin Mount. She is also preceded in death by her siblings: brother, Dr. John J. Storer; sisters, Dorothy Lykins, Wanda Storer, Mildred Murphy, Katherine Ware, and Colleen Magnuson.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters Elizabeth Ann (James) Courville and Jean (Roger) Kamla of Lake Charles, LA and her daughter-in-law Willie Landry Mount. She also leaves: her grandchildren Jim Courville, Allison Marino, and Benjamin and Hannah Kamla; four great-grandchildren; her sister Juanita Smith; her cousin, Martha Deshotel.
The family will receive guests at First United Methodist Church of Lake Charles on Friday, July 7, 2017, from 9 to 11 am with the memorial service, officiated by Rev. Weldon Bares, starting at 11 am. The burial will take place at Pinehill Cemetery in Iowa Louisiana immediately following. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to First United Methodist Church of Lake Charles, Iowa United Methodist Church or to the Betty and Crawford Mount Scholarship at McNeese State University Foundation.
