Beverly Gertrude Broussard, 96, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Monday, September 23, 2024.
Beverly was born in Erath, LA on September 7, 1928 to J.O. and Viola Theriot. She attended high school in Creole, LA (Class of 1945). Beverly married Richard Williams and had two children, Yvonne Stevens and Don Williams. She was a devout christian and loved sharing her faith and love of Jesus. She resided in Louisiana and Texas her entire life. She was adventurous in her occupations which included cosmetology, owner of a boat landing in Henry, LA, rice farmer, ran the kitchen in Liberty County jail, and became a sheriff’s deputy there. She led a bible study at the jail and numerous other bible studies throughout her life with a multitude of people. She retired with her husband Floyd Coleman in Linden, TX. He preceded her in death in 1996.
She later married Russell Broussard who she resided with in Lake Charles. He preceded her in death in 2008. She is also preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Doris O’Donnel and husband Joe O’Donnel, son-in-law Ray Stevens, great grandson Dewayne Stevens, grandson John Balun III.
Survivors include daughter, Yvonne Stevens, son Don Williams and wife Tommie Jo, grandchildren Jodie Wight and husband Wes, Stephanie Crawford and husband Greg, Jennifer Nevils and husband Chad, Chuck Stevens and wife Julie, great grandchildren Dakota DeVille and wife Mackenzie, Madison DeVille and fiance Zane Tucker, Abigail and husband Justin Bradley, Brock Nevils and wife Victoria, Braleigh Stevens, Gage, Avery, Rayna, and Rayce, great great grandchildren Ivie, Rylan, Isla, and Demi, nieces Pat Ortego and Charlotte Collins, Lori, Robbie, and Ken.
A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday, September 29th 12:00-2:00pm at Johnson’s funeral home with services to follow at 2:00. A procession will follow to Highland Memorial inurnment services.
