Billie Gloria Garrett

Billie Gloria Levy Garrett, 88, of Lake Charles passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Christus St. Patrick’s Hospital.

Mrs. Garrett was a native of Iola, TX.  She has lived nearly sixty-five years in Lake Charles.  During her younger years she enjoyed many hand crafts, painting and sewing and always enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles.  She was an admirable Christian woman of her generation, as she devoted her life and her love to her family and will be most remembered for her kind, thoughtful spirit.  Mrs. Garrett was a member of Sale Street Baptist Church. 

She leaves to honor her memory, one son, Garland Lynn Garrett of Lake Charles; five grandchildren, Erika Garrett and Derek Garrett of Lake Charles, Michael Garrett and William Garrett of DeRidder and Cristen Garrett and husband Chip of Little Rock, AR; many great-grandchildren and two daughter-in-laws, Kay and Carolyn Garrett of Lake Charles.

She was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, Eddy Wilburn Garrett; son, Jeffery Alan Garrett; parents, Jake and Hazel McWilliams Rivette and step-father, John “Jake” Rivette.

Funeral services will be at 6:00 PM Saturday October 22, 2016 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel.  Reverend Randy Edwards will officiate.  Interment services will be private in Prien Memorial Park.  Visitation Saturday will be from 2:00 PM until the time of service in the funeral home.

 The family of Mrs. Garrett wishes to express heartfelt thanks to Dr. Luke Williams and the ICU staff of Christus St. Patrick’s Hospital for their excellence in care and kindness.
