Billie Jean Grumbles, 89, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2015 surrounded by her family. Billie Jean was a christian woman who loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Billie Jean was a waitress at Harry's Restaurant for many years then became a homemaker. Billie Jean loved to read. She was a jokester and loved to have fun. Billie Jean loved life and was very loved by her family and friends. Billie Jean is survived by her three daughters, Nancy Miller, Jean Dyer and husband, Denny and Amanda Thibodeaux and husband, Chris; siblings, Rosalee Loupe, Richard Flirt, Archie Flirt, Alice Kelly and Barbara Schivler; grandchildren, John Miller, Billy Miller, Regina Primeaux, Michael Holbrook, Ronald Hicken, Arah Hicken, Joseph Thibodeaux, Gabriel Thibodeaux and Candace Dickens; 23 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Billie Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Ellen Mathison Guirvach; one daughter, Ella Lois Grumbles; and husband, John Edward "Woody" Grumbles. Services for Billie Jean will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 2 pm Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Brother Gary Eavers and Reverend Betty Hooper officiating. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines in Carlyss. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 31, 2015 from 4-9 pm and will resume on Tuesday from 9 am until the time of service.
