Billy Evelyn Cormier, 73, of Sulphur passed away on January 14, 2016 in a local hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sulphur and sang in the Agin Cajun Choir. Billy also belonged to the motorcycle club, “LA Retreads”, enjoyed square dancing, traveling, arts and crafts. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Billy is survived by her two daughters, Cindy Shotwell and husband Edwin “Eddie” of DeRidder; and Brenda Kammeier and husband Brian of Vinton; her brother, Gayland of Lake Charles; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elridge Cormier; her parents, Billy and Ella Pearl Helfer; her sister, Doris June Wier; and an infant brother.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11 A.M. at First Baptist Church of Sulphur with Rev. Gerard Little of Emanuel Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 10 A.M. at First Baptist Church of Sulphur until time of the service.
